Getting started – 1000 possible points 

Quizzes:  Six quizzes (15 points each / 100 possible  points) 


PART I:   Create a wordpress.com portfolio site (50 points each / 200 possible  points)   You only need a browser and a free WordPress.com account. You want to create and publish your site, and send the URL to the instructor.  Then create pages and posts; organize your menus; and add other elements such as headers and widgets.


PART 2:  Image Editing exercises—  (20  points each, 300 possible)  using Adobe Photoshop, GIMP (free), Photopea (free) or other image editor.


Projects —  100  possible points each  

PART 3 Your photos  — 1 to 4 photo galleries. (25 points each, 100  possible)  Graded on  composition and optimization. Try to stick with one theme or subject, using closeups, medium shots and wide shots.   Be sure to display in web galleries not as individual images.  (100 possible points)

PART 4 Graphic design — Using InDesign, or some other desktop publishing application, create a one page brochure with a headline, cutline,  graphic element and body text.  (20 points)  For  all 150 points, create a set of posters and logos for a new business.

PART 5. Audio  — Use Audacity (free), Garage Band (free with Mac) or Adobe Audition to create a podcast intro (20 points) or create a three minute long podcast with interviews (150 points), upload to server (eg  Soundcloud) and use embed tags reference in your  web portfolio

PART 6. Video  Use Adobe Premier, DaVinci Resolve (free), Final Cut Pro, Avid, or  iMovie (free with Mac), or Windows Movie Maker (free with Windows) or other video application to create a video,  export in the right format, upload to server (eg YouTube) and use and use embed tags  reference in your  web portfolio. Again, 150 points.

PART 7. Animation – Use Photoshop or Adobe Animate to create animations in web-safe formats. 150 points

PART 8. Drone video – Study FAA materials, pass a basic quiz similar to the Part 107 FAA test, fly a drone with an FAA-licensed instructor,   shoot video in an unpopulated area, edit the video and post it on your portfolio site. 150 points.
