After y0u’ve edited your video in Adobe Premier, Final Cut Pro, or other video editing application, you need to prepare it for web distribution.<\/p>\n

Premier export controls<\/p><\/div>\n

In Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve,\u00a0 or other video editor:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. File > Export > Media\u00a0 for export settings.<\/li>\n
  2. From the Format pop-up list, you need H.264<\/li>\n
  3. Select a ready-to-use setting. There are several for YouTube and Vimeo and other video serving systems.<\/li>\n
  4. Here we have selected YouTube 480 pixels but this is low res.\u00a0 You can select YouTube 1080 for higher resolution if you are using systems with moderate to high bandwidth.<\/li>\n
  5. (Optional) Select\u00a0 “Use Maximum Render Quality.”<\/li>\n
  6. Name your file under Output Name.<\/li>\n
  7. Click the Export button to create your file and save it in an easy to locate place on your computer, like your Desktop or Documents.<\/li>\n

    Next, log into your YouTube account.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

    1. Click on the Upload icon (arrow pointing upward)<\/li>\n
    2. \u00a0Select a file and click upload<\/li>\n
    3. \u00a0Select privacy settings and provide information about the video.<\/li>\n
    4. Depending on the size of your file and your internet bandwidth, this may take at least a few minutes.<\/li>\n
    5. Once the video is in place, look for the “Share” button on the lower right side underneath.\u00a0 There are two approaches.\n
        \n
      1. One is the simple URL, which is just the “https:\/\/youtube.com\/yadayada”\u00a0 The problem with the simple URL is that you have no control over the size and location of your embedded vido.<\/li>\n
      2. The other approach is to use html coding. The basics are not hard to learn.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        With wordpress.com (free student accounts)\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

          \n
        1. Start editing a new or existing page. Get a “new block” by clilcking\u00a0 on the cross inside the square.<\/li>\n
        2. This “new block” function has lots of ways to insert images and galleries and video and audio files.\u00a0 Look for icons for “YouTube.<\/li>\n
        3. Insert the URL from your YouTube share.<\/li>\n
        4. If it’s working you should see your video on the page right away.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          With Bluehost, GoDaddy or other hosting accounts<\/strong><\/p>\n

          1. You may still need to embed using the <iframe …> tag.\n
              \n
            1. \u00a0To use the iframe tag, first click on Embed<\/li>\n
            2. Copy the embed tags, which should look like this:\u00a0 \u00a0 <iframe\u00a0 src=”https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/M4pvm1W4070<\/span>” width=”560<\/span>” height=”315″ frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen=”allowfullscreen” align=”right”<\/span>><\/iframe>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
            3. Paste this into the “Text” or “Html” side of a WordPress document.<\/li>\n
            4. You can change or add the sections in red.<\/span> Remember there are spaces between the elements of the code. So right in front of align=”right”<\/span> there is a space.<\/li>\n
            5. To modify the size or placement of the video, edit the text in the embed tags.\u00a0 For example:\n
                \n
              1. \u00a0width=”560″ can be changed to width=”480″ or other sizes<\/li>\n
              2. you can add\u00a0 align=”left” (or “right”) to have text wrap around your embedded video<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                So, for example,\u00a0 \u00a0the following raw video at COMM WEEK 2017 was shot and then uploaded to YouTube. The embed tags from the share function at the YouTube site were then pasted into the “Text” side of this page.<\/p>\n
