{"id":3117,"date":"2019-06-18T15:56:17","date_gmt":"2019-06-18T15:56:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/revolutionsincommunication.com\/law\/?p=3117"},"modified":"2019-06-18T16:07:00","modified_gmt":"2019-06-18T16:07:00","slug":"parents-win-sandy-hook-libel-suit-more-suits-to-come","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/revolutionsincommunication.com\/law\/2019\/06\/18\/parents-win-sandy-hook-libel-suit-more-suits-to-come\/","title":{"rendered":"Parents win first Sandy Hook libel suit"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Parents of children killed at the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sandy_Hook_Elementary_School_shooting\">Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting<\/a> on December 14, 2012 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usnews.com\/news\/us\/articles\/2019-06-18\/sandy-hook-families-switch-tactics-put-hoaxers-on-defensive\">won a libel suit yesterday (June 17, 2019) <\/a>against the authors of a book that claimed it never happened.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was a victory for parents who have been besieged with hate mail and death threats from alt-right conspiracy theorists and hoaxers.   A similar lawsuit against Alex Jones and his program &#8220;InfoWars&#8221; is still being contested in court.
