(Hint: It doesnt exist to punish the critics of the rich and the corrupt).<\/p><\/div>\n<p>A libel suit by a Russian billionaire <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/8c88212136af43b9b888e5f1886ae04a\/Judge-dismisses-Russian-billionaire's-suit-against-AP\">got booted out of federal court<\/a> Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Oleg_Deripaska\">Oleg Deripaska<\/a>ha had sued the Associated Press for exposing his links\u00a0 to former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort.<\/p>\n<p>US\u00a0 District Judge Ellen Segal Huvelle said\u00a0 the suit\u00a0 \u201ccherry-picked sentences\u201d that he wrongly claimed were defamatory even though he<span style=\"color: #444444;\">\u00a0\u201cdoes not dispute any material facts.\u201d\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>According to the AP,\u00a0the story revealed how Manafort, a decade before joining the Trump campaign, had proposed to Deripaska a confidential business strategy to support pro-Russian political parties and to influence politics, business dealings and news coverage inside the United States, Europe and former Soviet republics to benefit Putin\u2019s government.<\/p>\n<p>To recover for libel, a story must be false.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A libel suit by a Russian billionaire got booted out of federal court Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017.
