Here are the basic expectations.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px; color: #444444; font-family: Georgia, 'Bitstream Charter', serif;\"><strong>MC 1 Legal research\u00a0<\/strong> involves looking up 1) case briefs and opinions of the court and 2) law journal articles that attempt to make sense of the many case briefs and opinions out there.\u00a0 \u00a0In your preliminary memo (D2L &#8211; MC1) you should summarize the legal argument in three or more cases and\/or law reviews.\u00a0 You should also assess the current state of similar cases from a Google search that finds two or three news articles.\u00a0 \u00a0The memo should be at least 500 words long.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>MC 2 Writing the brie<\/strong>f &#8211;\u00a0 The brief should be about three to five pages\u00a0 (700 + words long) and it should put the case in context, summarize your legal argument, ask for relief.\u00a0 You should cite five cases and law reviews.\u00a0 (For more, see &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/revolutionsincommunication.com\/law\/course\/writingbrief\/\">writing the brief<\/a>&#8221; on this site)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Oral argumen<\/strong>t &#8211;\u00a0 Legal arguments should be explained in the moot court, and questions from judges should be answered.
