Or at least, that&#8217;s the premise of this journalism kit being sold in department stores.<\/p><\/div>\n<p id=\"eid40452751\"><span id=\"etymologySpanBlock1\"><em><strong>OK, so journalism isn&#8217;t always about \u00a0serious stuff<\/strong><\/em>. \u00a0Sometimes it involves glittler, gemstones and bottles of Elmers glue. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;Learn to be a Journalist&#8221; kit is apparently being sold at K-Mart. Prof. Kovarik is hoping to find one sometime soon and refresh his Glitter 101 skills.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"etymologySpanBlock1\">Etymologically,\u00a0 \u00a0the word journalism \u00a0is \u00a0French in origin: <em>&#8220;journalisme, &#8220;<\/em> which, according to the Oxford English Dictionary, was found as early as 1781 in a French publication. \u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p>The actual definition is this:<\/p>\n<div>\n<div id=\"eid40452772\">\n<div id=\"eid40452774\">\n<p>\u00a01.\u00a0a. The occupation or profession of a journalist; journalistic writing; the public journals collectively.<\/p>\n<div id=\"eid40452774\">\n<div id=\"eid40452775\">\n<div>\n<div id=\"eid40452777\">\n<div id=\"eid40452778\"><span id=\"eid161241168\"><!--more-->1833\u00a0\u00a0 <a rel=\"0473017\">Westm. Rev.<\/a> Jan. 195<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0 \u2018Journalism\u2019 is a good name for the thing meant.
